Music by Count de Saint Germain – CD2

190,00 kr

The second CD by Ensemble PHOENIX contains, for the first time, arias written by the Count de Saint Germain, in addition to instrumental works by the Count de Saint Germain that have not yet been recorded. The arias heard on this CD are taken from the opera “L’Inconstanza Delusa”, to which the Count contributed precisely these arias. This opera was a joint work by several composers, in accordance with the so-called pasticcio technique, which was widespread at the time.
The Count’s arias were received with such enthusiasm at the first performances in London that the music publisher Walsh published a special edition entitled “The Favorite Songs in the Opera Call’d L’Inconstanza Delusa”, which, alongside the arias by the composer Brivio contains only those of the Count de Saint Germain. The PHOENIX ensemble, now expanded to include soprano Antje Bitterlich, performed the works live at St. Laurentius Church in Kosel, an 800-year-old Romanesque stone church in the beautiful countryside between Eckernförde and Louisenlund.
